Cave Paintings in India

The earliest sign of human life in India is the Bhimbetka rock shelters it shows that some of these shelters were inhabited for 100,000 years. The earliest cave paintings are meant to be from the  Mesolithic period.

The latest paintings found are said to be from the medieval periods. The paintings are usually in the colours red and white with the occasional use of green and yellow. These paintings showed the lives of the people who lived in the caves they have images of childbirth,communal dancing and drinking.
